Type 1

Some of the names this type of diabetes was known for were insulin dependent diabetes or juvenile diabetes. Many people picture diabetics to be obese and unhealthy but the people with type 1 diabetes aren’t always like that. This classification of diabetes is caused by loss of beta cells in the islets of Langerhans in the pancreas. The glucose levels increases so there is a need to administer insulin shots. Insulin shots are required for a lifetime for people with type one diabetes. This type of diabetes occurs mostly in children but they are also found in adults and is approximately only 10% of all diabetes cases.

What is Type 2 diabetes?

The body’s irresponsiveness to insulin is the cause of type 2 diabetes. It’s believed that type 2 diabetes is partly because of the lifestyle of a person where the blood sugar level is constantly high. Treating the condition at its early stages can reverse the unresponsive cells’ condition.

What is Gestational diabetes?

This type of diabetes, is found; as the name suggests, in pregnant women and the symptoms of diabetes and cause is like type 2 diabetes. The classification of diabetes is only found in the course of the pregnancy. It only becomes dangerous if the baby is affected by it.
